In 1902 in broad daylight on the courthouse square, city Marshal Guy Tucker confronted his bitter rivals, the Parnell Brothers. In one swift moment, a flurry of gunfire left three men dead and several others wounded. The re-enactment supports a cast of area actors and chronicles the events that led up to this historic event.
Characters include: City Marshal Guy Tucker, grandfather to former Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker; store owner Tom Parnell; brother Matt Parnell; photographer Bob Mullens; Sheriff Norris and others. This historic portrayal of life in El Dorado in the early 1900s includes live music prior to the re-enactment.
Located in Historic Downtown El Dorado on Washington Street. June 26, July 24 and August 28th. (Sponsored by the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society)

El Dorado Lodge #13 celebrates 175 years
Come by our Lodge anytime from 10am-3pm to check us out!
106 N Washington, take the stairs next door to Merle Norman.
El Dorado Lodge #13 was chartered around 1846, right in the middle of the oil boom. The current Masonic Temple in use today was erected in 1924, while oil was still the huge commodity. That much is evident when one steps into the Lodge Hall and admires the great care and craftsmanship that went into its construction. Masons come from far and wide just to step into the Lodge hall and see it for themselves.
We are truly honored and delighted to host this open house to commemorate our 175 years or being in El Dorado. We also look forward to continuing our tradition of charity, friendship, morality, and brotherly love.
