Main Street El Dorado and the Downtown Business Association began a First Thursday program in August of 2018!  In an effort to promote shopping local and supporting our downtown merchants, the majority of the businesses have pledged to stay open late the First Thursday of EVERY month!  The First Thursday event includes staying open until 7 PM or later for the shopping convenience of those who can’t always get downtown before the store’s typical closing time.  Each month MSE and DBA try to come up with creative ways to help bring people downtown.  You can usually find, great deals and sales that are ONLY available between 5-7PM, live music, free refreshments, street buskers, nonprofits with booths set up and MORE!  The MAD playscape is open and the Murphy Arts District has Thursday Night Live (Free Live Music) every week.   For April we want El Dorado/Union County kids of ALL ages, 0-110 years of age to join us in our attempt at the longest Bunny Hop Dance Line!  The current record according to Record Setter is 500 and actually held by our neighbors in Siloam Springs, AR.  Please come join us AND bring your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, church family and more to help us break the record and show another great reason why El Dorado is the cool place to be!  El Dorado is going to be Hoppin’ in April and you don’t want to miss it!!
